Puerh Tea
Puerh Tea is a fermented tea, which can be found in black or green form, is processed similarly to other teas, but it is then left moist and often compressed into cakes, bricks, mushrooms or tuochas to age, similar to composting.
There are two types of puerh - Sheng (raw), which ferments naturally over an extended period of time, and Shou (ripe), which is heated to speed up fermentation. During the aging process, the tea develops increased aromas, flavors, and complexity.
The resulting liquor typically has earthy, musky, and wine-like characteristics with a unique sweet aftertaste. And, as if that wasn't enough, Pu-erh has been used for centuries to aid digestion, aid in weight-loss, and detox the body. Soooo gooood!
